Signing Up for Google Analytics

Step 1: Create a New Goal
After logging into the google analytics account, there comes a button as ‘admin’, clicking that will give you three bifurcated columns namely: Account, property and view.
Then, in the far right, column at third position namely: Goals, here where you can set new goals to create for the site.
Step 2: Choose Goal Set-up
Goals, are further split into templates, who further are split into three sub categories namely: Revenue, Acquisition and Inquiry and one more sub category as Engagement.
Step 3: Enter Goal Description
The next step comes out to customize the goal according to requirements. Enter any name that you wish so that it helps in remembering the conversion you are tracking. Then, hit the Continue button to proceed further.
Step 4: Enter Goal Details
In this section. You will enter the URL for thank you page and will be written in the Destination section of the option. In the Value section, you can allot any monetary amount in that section based upon your idea, confidence and knowledge that how much each mail lead will be worth of. Then, hit the save button.
Step 5: Start Recording
As soon as goal is created then google analytics start calculating, in short, it starts its job of recording data. So, just wait and watch.
Step 6: Viewing the Data
Now, since the tracking of data has just been started so there would be not much to depict. However, the data can be viewed in the Acquisition Overview and selecting the new goal under the conversion menu. This allows to fetch the details for top channels which are top sources of traffic.
Step 7: Analysing the Data
The image shown above will show the results as tracked by google analytics. This will show you which sites and channels are yielding with highest conversion rates.
